Both of my parents and sisters worked union jobs, I took a different route and was the first in my family, going back generations, to graduate from college. I’m an RN who worked my way from an associate's degree to recently graduating with my doctorate degree in education. Throughout my career, worksites were stopped or delayed years when attempting to organize. But now, I’m a school nurse with PPS and, finally, a union sister in PFT 400. Over the course of my nursing career, I had the opportunity to influence positive change as a champion for evidence-based nursing practices, clinical education, innovation, and business management, and currently, community health through school nursing. As nursing extends far from the bedside, I gained valuable experience in business related to nursing services.
I intend to support union labor including increasing those jobs with promoting American made products. I believe in small business growth, fiscal sustainability, and equitable community development. This includes securing the $15.00 minimum wage with incremental increase. Schools are the center of a community and public school reform including the elimination of voucher programs. I will support all legislation to maintain the right for safe abortions including the removal of the 24-hour waiting period and include Medicaid coverage. Citizens in Pennsylvania deserve environmental safety .
All neighbors in House District 58 deserve someone who listens to them.
